Constituents
Annual branched plant. Height 1-2 meter. Green leaves, white pinkish flower, and fine sticky hair like parts in whole plant. Leaves and seeds contain nicotine, nicotanin (Camphor) cyanogenic glycosides, polyphenoles, lupuline, lobeline, piperidine, coniine, germacrene, anabasine, solanesol and piperidine alkaloids, malic acid, citric acid, potassium nitrate, sulphur; pungent, astringent. Phytochemicals are less in seeds.

It was believed that it has some biological actions similar to smaller dose of Lead arsenate, Manganum, Ricinus communis and conium maculatum.
