Constituents

Perennial plant. Height 1 meter. Root contains proto veratrine, cyclopamine, jervin, and pseudojervine. 

Therapeutics

This is remedy for cholera, and collapse with extreme chilliness and cold sweat on forehead.

It is remedy for nausea and vomiting with cold sensation on abdomen.

It is remedy for syncope, and stroke with icy cold at tip of nose and face.

It is remedy for anxiety due to menstrual pain, or pregnancy.

It is remedy for chronic coryza (Inhalation).

It is remedy for respiratory and cardiac paralysis.

It is remedy for tachycardia and palpitation from tobacco smoking.

It is remedy for suppuration (Silicea, Hepar sulph).

It is remedy for psoriasis.

It is medicine externally for hair loss (Tabacum, Arnica, Jaborandi, Aconitum, Nux vomica).

It is highly toxic to foetus.

It had been used as sneezing powder, emetic, laxatives, and abortifacient.

It had been used as arrow poison.

Veratrum album is more toxic than Veratrum viride.

Alexander great was suspected poisoned with white hellebore. 

Word “elein” (Greek) means to injure. “Bora” means animal food.

Word “Vera” means truth (Latin), and faith (Russian).
