Viola odorata. Kader Kochi.


Synonyms

Sweet violet, Garden violet, Banafsha, Neelapushpa.


Constituents

Perennial, creeping and stemless plant. Height 15 cm. Flowers are aromatic and violet. Flowers, leaves and root. Plant contains friedelin, beta- sitosterol, and salicylic acid.


Therapeutics

This is medicine for cold, otitis, and cough.

It is medicine for insomnia, headache, and pain on left eye ball.

It is medicine externally for mouth ulcer.

It is diuretic medicine.

It is medicine for renal stone (Seeds).

It is remedy for cancer in lungs.

It is remedy for rheumatism at wrist.

It is remedy for male erectile dysfunctions. 

A pigment extracted from flowers is used as a litmus to test acids and alkalis.

Flowers had been used for making breath freshers, and medicinal syrup.

It is an antidote for Manganum (Salicylic acid, Camphor).


Dose

2 to 8 drops.

Dilution.
